5 teams who should still make trade offer for Odell Beckham Jr.
2. Green Bay Packers
The Packers are now 2-0 after beating the Detroit Lions on Sunday, and they’ve gotten production from Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling at wide receiver beyond stud Davante Adams thus far. But it’s going to be hard to rely on that, particularly in the case of Valdes-Scantling, and the NFC North (at least, with the Vikings and Lions both 0-2 and the Bears being the Bears) is there for the taking again this year.
Despite their controversial drafting of Jordan Love in April and a notable avoidance of drafting or adding any weapons in free agency, the Packers are still in a short window to win while Aaron Rodgers is the quarterback. So win-now moves have to still be on the radar, without necessarily abandoning future plans.
With all the constipation, rumors and (relative) controversy surrounding what they didn’t do around Rodgers this offseason in the name of the future, it’s easy to forget the Packers made it to the NFC Championship Game last year. Imagine the possibility of Adams and Beckham lining up opposite each other.
