Week 3 of the NFL season is here and some teams need to hit the panic button. Here are the five most interesting matchups on the schedule.

Strange things that happen during the first weekend of the NFL regular season can be dismissed as flukes. Things that happen two weeks in a row start to look like trends. That makes Week 3 a huge weekend for teams that want to change their trajectory before the season gets away from them.

Any team that enters the weekend at 0-2 needs to be on high alert. The odds are stacked against any franchise turning an 0-3 record into a playoff berth. There might be more variance this season than usual given the current pandemic, but no team should want to rely on that.

Conversely, teams that currently sport 2-0 records are in great shape. They’ll want to win in Week 3 to consolidate their positions on top of their respective divisions. Going 3-0 doesn’t guarantee postseason success, but it does make reaching the playoffs pretty likely.

Without further delay, keep reading to learn about the five most interesting matchups of Week 3.

5. Stefon Diggs against Jalen Ramsey

The acquisition of Diggs has gone as well as the Bills could have possibly hoped for through two weeks. They face a significant step up in competition this week, though. Jalen Ramsey might not shadow Diggs all over the field, but the two stars will matchup in coverage on quite a few occasions.

The winner of this battle will give their team a huge edge. Buffalo needs Diggs to stretch the opposing secondary to give Josh Allen bigger windows to throw through on intermediate routes. That doesn’t mean Diggs is a decoy. If he is able to reel in a few long throws it makes this offense really hard to handle.

Ramsey is still one of the best cover corners in the game. Los Angeles will need to give him a little safety help when Diggs goes deep, but he can shut him down otherwise. This shapes up as a feast or famine matchup for both teams.
