2021 NFL Mock Draft: Jets draft Trevor Lawrence and replace Sam Darnold
By Brad Weiss
The Philadelphia Eagles have gotten out to a rough start to the 2020 NFL season, losing against division rival Washington in Week 1, and then getting blasted by the Los Angeles Rams this past weekend. There is a lot to not like about this team, including their offensive line, which is just not giving Carson Wentz enough time in the pocket.
In the interior of their offensive line, the Eagles have one of the best in football in Jason Kelce, but they should still look to bring in a player like Alex Leatherwood. This guy can play both guard and center, and they need all the depth they can use in front of their No. 1 asset in Wentz.
All of a sudden, the Las Vegas Raiders look every bit the part of a playoff contender, this after knocking off NFC South teams in two straight weeks. While they were supposed to win on the road against the Carolina Panthers, beating New Orleans at home on Monday Night Football was not supposed to be in the cards, but they took care of business in primetime.
Looking at this roster, there is still holes, especially on defense, and they need to continue to add to the linebacker group. Many believe Dylan Moses is the best linebacker in this draft class, and on the Raiders, he would start immediately alongside Nick Kwiatkoski and Cory Littleton in Paul Guenther’s Base 4-3 defense.
After losing despite a solid effort from Philip Rivers in Week 1, the Indianapolis Colts bounced back in Week 2, thrashing the Minnesota Vikings. Indy looked good on both sides of the ball, and if they can keep Rivers upright for a full 16-game slate, they should be in the playoff mix when all is said and done.
On defense, the Colts have to get better off the edge, and Carlos Basham Jr. is one of those guys in this draft class that can make it a nightmare for quarterbacks. They have already bolstered the interior of their defensive line this offseason, now it is time to get better at getting after the quarterback in a tough AFC South division.
