FanDuel NFL 2020: Best lineup for Week 3
By Nick Villano
Tight end: Austin Hooper $5,300
This one was a little rough, so if fantasy players don’t want to trust Austin Hooper, that’s understandable. However, he’s primed for a big week. The Cleveland Browns have had a week and a half to prepare for the Washington Football Team. One thing has become seriously clear, Washington cannot stop tight ends.
They have given up the most points to tight ends in the first two weeks of the season. Both Dallas Goedert and Zach Ertz scored touchdowns against them in Week 1. The Cardinals is a hard test, since their top tight end is Dan Arnold. Still, Cleveland spent most of their time off watching tape of Washington against the Eagles, who torched them with the tight end.
Austin Hooper came to the Browns on a big contract in the offseason that most analysts did not like. It hasn’t worked out thus far. He has fewer yards than David Njoku, who was injured in Week 1 at the same position. Getting some actual time to get used to a new offense after some practice shots are important for a player like Hooper.
Baker Mayfield is going up against a decent Washington front seven, and he’ll need outlets throughout the game. Hooper will no doubt be one of those outlets. This isn’t going to be a “bang the door down” type of pick, but the options are limited at tight end and Hooper feels like a value against a team that’s given up points to the tight end.
Other options: Jonnu Smith $5,600, Tyler Higbee $6,100
