Justin Fields shared a reminder to get out and vote

Justin Fields has become one of the faces of college football. The Ohio State quarterback was a vocal leader to get his team on the field this season and will indeed get to play in 2020.

That means the Buckeyes are hard at work preparing for a season that begins at the end of October. There is also an election a few weeks into the Big Ten season and Fields was part of a video from the Buckeyes reminding everyone to get out and vote this year.

Justin Fields gives a good reminder to college football fans everywhere

The video provides a link for Buckeyes students to make sure they are registered to vote this fall. In general, the video is a good reminder for everyone to check their registration ahead of upcoming deadlines.

Fields has plenty on his plate as the fall season begins in Ohio. The Buckeyes open the season October 24 at home against Nebraska and have no weeks off in the eight-game Big Ten season. Gone are the easy non-conference wins, so Ohio State will have to be focused from day one.

November 3 is election day this year. That comes during a week when the Buckeyes will be preparing for what should be an easy victory over Rutgers. But for a day, all attention should be focused on getting out and voting if individuals plan to do that in person.

College athletes like Fields have gained a larger platform thanks to social media. Something as simple as telling people to vote can carry a ton of weight when it is being said by a star football player. Hopefully, Fields’ message will cause some who weren’t planning on voting to get out and exercise their right.
