College football Week 4 Top 25 schedule and predictions

The SEC returns on Saturday, as college football is officially back now.

It’s going to be clunky, but the SEC’s triumphant return in Week 4 has college football back.

Though games have been canceled or postponed each week of the 2020 college football season, the return of the SEC means we’ll be getting a little closer to normal during our fall Saturdays again. All 14 SEC schools will play this week and eight of them are ranked. With a whopping 20 ranked teams playing this weekend, let’s find out when they’re playing and if they will win.

Here is the Week 4 schedule for all the ranked college football teams.

Though I am a coward and went chalk this week, somebody will be upset this week in college football. Why do I know this? Because this is college football and that’s what happens just about every single Saturday. Since I don’t have a great feel on all these teams yet, I’ll give you a handful of games where a potential upset could occur within this robust Week 4 slate.

In the early window, the two games to keep an eye are the Georgia Southern Eagles at the No. 19 Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns and the No. 24 Louisville Cardinals at the No. 21 Pittsburgh Panthers. After beating Iowa State a few weeks ago, Louisiana didn’t look particularly sharp on the road vs. Georgia State. Pittsburgh is undefeated, but Louisville doesn’t want to start the ACC slate at 0-2.

If we’re looking for potential upsets in the mid-afternoon, the two games to watch are the Mississippi State Bulldogs at the No. 6 LSU Tigers and the No. 22 Army Black Knights at the No. 14 Cincinnati Bearcats. This is a new-look Mississippi State team vs. an LSU squad that lost so much to the NFL from last year’s team. Maybe Cincinnati struggles a bit with Army’s triple-option?

And if we’re picking two potential upsets from the evening slate, how about the No. 16 Tennessee Volunteers at the South Carolina Gamecocks or the North Carolina State Wolfpack at the No. 20 Virginia Tech Hokies? Williams-Brice is always a tough to play and the Vols are unproven. Lane Stadium is tough as well, but we still haven’t seen Virginia Tech play this year, so who knows?

Overall, we have three games featuring ranked opponents clashing. The No. 23 Kentucky Wildcats will be at the No. 8 Auburn Tigers, as well as No. 24 Louisville at No. 21 Pittsburgh and No. 22 Army at No. 14 Cincinnati. ESPN’s College GameDay will be at Hard Rock Stadium, as the No. 12 Miami Hurricanes look to move to 3-0 as they host the in-state rival Florida State Seminoles.

College football is back in SEC country and we could not be more excited about that.
