MAC football will return to action this fall with a whole lot of weekday action.

The MAC is back!

College football fans will be able to enjoy a slate full of MACtion this fall after the conference approved a restart on Friday.

In the wake of the Big Ten, Pac-12 and Mountain West’s return, the Mid-Atlantic is the final of 10 FBS conferences to go ahead with a fall season.

The MAC season will be primarily played on weekdays.

The best part of the MACtion returning is college football hitting the airwaves on weekdays throughout November.

The plan is to begin playing games on Wednesday, Nov. 4 with six conference games scheduled. The MAC Football Championship game will cap the campaign on the weekend of Dec. 18.

That first month of games will be played exclusively on weeknights, according to Adam Rittenberg of ESPN. Games will then transition to weekends for the month of December.

Like other conferences that have opted to return, the MAC will do so with new access to antigen testing. Their testing program will include four tests a week beginning on Oct. 5.

The MAC is being more aggressive in its testing plan than the Mountain West, who also announced a return on Thursday night but plan to rely on three tests per week.

At the same time, they are being less bold than their western counterpart when it comes to scheduling. With just six games planned and a November start, the MAC is following the lead of the Pac-12. The MWC meanwhile will attempt a restart by Oct. 24 with an eight-game slate.

A full schedule will be released soon.
