Ronald Acuña Jr hit the longest home run of the season on Friday night.

Ronald Acuña Jr is cooler than you. And he can definitely hit a baseball farther than you.

The Braves outfielder proved it on Friday when he rocked a pitch for a 495-foot home run, scoring the opening run for Atlanta against the Red Sox.

As if the one-run blast wasn’t impressive enough, he added a silky-smooth bat flip to the highlight.

It was the longest homer in the majors this season and the longest ever in the young life of Truist Park.

Even if the stadium has only been home to the Braves since 2017, it should be noted Acuna’s new record was no gimme. The previous longest home run there was 477 feet from Giancarlo Stanton, per Grant McAuley of the Braves Radio Network.

Ronald Acuña Jr. is impressing in his young career with the Braves.

The path of Acuña’s career continues to trend upward. Friday night’s home run was his 14th of the season and his 44th run for the 2018 NL Rookie of the Year.

Even though his batting average is down to 0.257, his on-base percentage of 0.411 is a career-high rating seventh in MLB this year.

Acuña has helped the Braves clinch the top seed in the National League East for the 2020 postseason. One more win would give them the No 2 overall seed in the NL.

Friday’s game against the Red Sox begins the Braves’ final series of the regular season. They will battle Boston on Saturday and Sunday as well before looking ahead to playoff opposition.

The Red Sox don’t have any playoff hopes. They’ll be looking to see out their season as painlessly as possible after singling to the bottom of the AL East standings with a 22-35 record on the season.
