Cowboys fans think a lot of things, and very rarely are they proven correct

This isn’t a shot at the largest fan base the NFL has to offer, but the Cowboys have provided so much success that their supporters don’t necessarily know how good they have it. After a close loss to arguably the best team in the NFC in Seattle, Dallas has now experience two close defeats and one euphoric victory over the Atlanta Falcons.

It’s hard to know what to think about this Cowboys team. On the one hand, they look vastly superior offensively, with play-calling and untimely errors often holding them back. Sound familiar?

Mike McCarthy is not Jason Garrett, but it’s still very early in his tenure. And to be fair, even Garrett enjoyed some sustainable success in Dallas. And McCarthy has a Super Bowl to his name.

Cowboys fans are convinced after just three weeks that Mike McCarthy is Jason Garrett 2.0

The flaws of Garrett’s leadership and game management were well documented, but McCarthy hasn’t shown that same lack of basic understanding as it pertains to clock management and how to motivate his team.

For the most part, the Cowboys have been in every game they’ve played. Even at 1-2, those two losses came at the hands to the Seahawks and Rams, two teams battling it out in the NFC West.

Perhaps we ought to give him full season before judging McCarthy to be the next great Cowboys failure.
