The referees don’t want the Dallas Cowboys to win because of this call.

The Dallas Cowboys can thank the officials for gifting the Seattle Seahawks a touchdown.

We know what illegal contact looks like, but that’s not what illegal contact looks like. Cowboys linebacker Jaylon Smith may have knocked Seahawks tight end Greg Olsen a bit, but due to the laws of physics, he didn’t hit him hard enough to go out of bounds. Olsen went out of bounds and was the first person to touch the football. It was so egregious, you have to watch this video of it.

The referees should take those points off the board after this blown call.

Smith last makes contact with Olsen at around the Cowboys’ 10-yard line. Though they were near the sidelines, it wasn’t enough to force Olsen out of bounds. He went out on his own accord around the Dallas five-yard line. Assuming he was out of the play, Smith was caught off-guard by Olsen coming up with the grab on the one-yard line for a goal-to-go situation. It was atrocious.

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson would connect with wide receiver Tyler Lockett on the very next play. This extended the Seahawks’ one-point lead to eight heading into halftime after the made PAT. If you watch this video on repeat, you will realize this was a total finesse move by Olsen. He went out of bounds on his own accord and he knows it. Smith didn’t deserve this.

If you’re touched and go out of bounds on your own, you can catch the ball because why not?
