Hunter Pence spent his first day of retirement cheering on the Giants from McCovey Cove.

Once a San Francisco Giant, always a San Francisco Giant. The newly retired Hunter Pence just proved that on Sunday. Instead of relaxing on his couch or on a tropical island somewhere, Pence was on a boat in McCovey Cove cheering on his old team as they battled their way to the postseason.

Hunter Pence retired on Saturday after 14 years

Pence, who last played in late August ended his career officially just 24 hours ago after 14 years in the Major Leagues. Though he was released by the team, it’s clear where his loyalties lay as he was spotted holding a handmade “Let’s go Giants” sign.

At press time the Giants were trailing the San Diego Padres in the seventh but with the extra moral support from Pencem perhaps they’ll pull the win out in his honor.
