6. This is a potential AFC title game preview

Oodles of football will be played before two teams scuffle in the 2020 AFC Championship, but if Vegas oddsmakers are worth their salt, this game will be a teaser trailer.

That’s right, the Ravens are +500 favorites to reach Super Bowl LV whereas the Chiefs are a smidgen below at +550. For either team to actuate these prophecies to fruition, one must win the AFC Championship.

Ergo, a safe bet per oddsmakers is the Chiefs and Ravens will meet again late in January.

Several other NFL teams disagree, though. The aforementioned Steelers, Bills, Titans, and Patriots would vehemently object to the rubber stamp of a Chiefs-Ravens conference championship. Even the Las Vegas Raiders are undefeated with wins over the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints. Sometimes, too, it seems like an unsung contender bumbles its way to the AFC Championship. The Jacksonville Jaguars can tell you all about it.

Based on contemporary performance, coaching, and roster depth, a Chiefs-Ravens meeting in the postseason resembles an inevitability. Tonight will give us a glimpse into that future matchup — when there is much more at stake.

Moreover, this game could possibly determine which stadium will be the venue for a playoff game between Kansas City and Baltimore. One team will own the head-to-head tiebreaker in the event both teams finish 2020 with the same record.
