The former Alabama Crimson Tide star receiver secures his first NFL touchdown in impressive fashion.

Football fans became acquainted with Jerry Jeudy during his three years playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was a star in the team’s offense, and was bound to be a superstar in the NFL. Jeudy was a certified top-10 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, but he shockingly fell into the Denver Broncos‘ laps with the 15th-overall selection. Through the first three weeks of the 2020 NFL season, Jeudy had accumulated the targets and the catches, but didn’t have a touchdown to his name yet. That all changed on Thursday night.

In their Week 4 matchup against the New York Jets, Jeudy made the most of his first in-game target by quarterback Brett Rypien. On the deep pass, Jeudy leapt over Jets cornerback Pierre Desir a la Randy Moss, and walked backwards into the end zone to not only give Denver the 10-7 lead, but to secure his first-career touchdown. Seriously, words can not do it justice:

Jeudy’s first touchdown will be remembered for a long time

While Jeudy felt the joy of his first score, Desir had to feel awful. Desir thought he had Jeudy contained, but Rypien’s pass hit Desir in the face and Jeudy ripped it away from his sights for the score. Seriously, there couldn’t have been a smoother touchdown reception than that.

Jeudy entered the Week 4 contest with 13 receptions for 173 receiving yards to his credit, but it came on 24 targets. The rookie had to be relied on heavily this season, as top receiver Courtland Sutton suffered a season-ending knee injury.
