10 WR sleepers to target for fantasy football Week 4
By Dustin Baker
3. Marvin Jones (DET)
Game: New Orleans Saints at Detroit Lions (Sunday, 10/4, 1:00 pm EST)
Jones is a savvy veteran, but he has been oddly quiet (relatively speaking) this season. This is amplified as his stablemate, Kenny Golladay, missed the first two weeks of the season because of injury.
For Week 4, this is another game that could delve into a shootout-style affair. Detroit has a tiny advantage of playing at home, and we know that New Orleans likes to run up the score. And, the Saints are in dire need of a stellar rebound performance.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford will throw the ball — probably because the Lions are trailing — and the Golladay-Jones show will be the benefactor.
4. Brandin Cooks (HOU)
Game: Minnesota Vikings at Houston Texans (Sunday, 10/4, 1:00 pm EST)
This is a desperation game for two franchises that possessed high hopes mere weeks ago. Now, both teams are winless and risk seeing their respective seasons end in Texas. Only one team in NFL history, the 1992 San Diego Chargers, battled back from an 0-4 record to participate in the postseason.
Feeling the heat, Houston will look to get back on track versus a very young Minnesota Vikings secondary (that is also beset by injury). Pass-catcher Brandin Cooks has a long history of respectable production for multiple NFL teams. If any wideout on the Texans roster is capable of battering the maligned Vikings secondary, it’s Brandin Cooks.
With DeAndre Hopkins gone, a Watson-to-Cooks afterlife will fully engage this weekend.
