It’s Year 4 for Jimbo Fisher and he still hasn’t come close to justifying that contract.

Put on your shocked face everybody. Jimbo Fisher’s Texas A&M Aggies lost 52-24 to Alabama on Saturday.

Wait, not shocking? Yeah, let’s be fair here. The Aggies were 18-point underdogs to the Crimson Tide.

Does that make Fisher’s failure to even put up a fight against Alabama any better? Absolutely not. He was hired to make waves in College Station. He hasn’t created a ripple.

Jimbo Fisher’s latest loss to Alabama goes to show what a waste his contract is

Mac Jones and the Tide smashed the No. 13 Aggies, 52-24. It wasn’t even that close even though Texas A&M made it slightly interesting in the second quarter. They simply got outclassed by Alabama.

This is Fisher’s third loss to the Tide in three attempts. In 2017, Kevin Sumlin’s Aggies came within eight points of besting Bama. Fisher’s teams haven’t come closer than 19 points. They’ve been outscored 144-75.

Whatever magic helped him guide Florida State to a national championship and six 10-win campaigns is well and truly gone.

If it was just Nick Saban who had Fisher’s number it might be different.

Fisher is 2-12 against ranked teams as Texas A&M’s head coach. He didn’t manage 10 wins in either of his first two seasons and he certainly isn’t going to achieve that mark this year. Texas A&M fans should wonder if they can make it through the next two weeks without losing to No. 3 Florida or No. 16 Mississippi State.

When you’re getting paid $7.5 million a year on a 10-year contract with $75 million guaranteed, that’s highway robbery.

Jimbo Robber doesn’t have the same ring to it though.
