DraftKings EuroLeague basketball picks October 8

It was a bit of a rough start in the DraftKings EuroLeague universe in round 1 with several players not playing due to injuries and several rotations morphing in the middle of the game itself.

We have a few injuries on the lighter day of round 2 to deal with. I will try to edit this list throughout the week leading to tipoff on Thursday since domestic league games are still going on. More injuries could happen. So far this is what we’re dealing with.

Out: Nikola Milutinov (coronavirus), Jeffery Taylor (muscle), Joan Sastre (knee), Janis Strelnieks (hip/coronavirus), Yovel Zoosman (hamstring), Semen Antonov (coronavirus),

Questionable: Shane Larkin (Achilles), Sergio Llull (ankle), Vanja Marinkovic (back), Leo Westermann (groin), Felipe Reyes (ankle),

Llull did practice on Monday, so it’s looking like he will play in some capacity in round 2. I would say that the Tel Aviv-CSKA matchup is in danger of being lost entirely due to three positive COVID cases for the Moscow team. Make sure you keep an eye on this leading up to tipoff on Thursday afternoon.

Friday went better than Thursday last week, but now we have some kind of baseline reading for each team. We’re not just guessing at who is going to play.

A scheduling change turned this from a four game slate into a three game slate. That makes this a bit more difficult and if you read this article on Tuesday, well, this is the revised version.

Often early in the EuroLeague season we see about ten players playing half the game. The upside on everyone is capped except for the few elites out there.

For DraftKings EuroLeague, we can’t expect 5x value like in the NBA. Most winning lineups are around 180-200 DraftKings points, which is around 3.5 – 4x value. Keep that in mind when mining for value picks.
