Five of the wildest moment of the high-drama Dodgers vs. Padres Game 1 showdown.

The Los Angeles Dodgers vs. The San Diego Padres game promised to be high drama and it absolutely delivered. We expected grand slams and showboating and potentially a pitchers showdown. We got none of that … we got something way better.

Here are a few of the craziest moments from Game 1.

Mike Clevinger left way earlier than expected

Padres’ Mike Clevinger wasn’t expected to pitch in the postseason but just hours before the game was set he was announced as the Game 1 starter. Unfortunately just two pitches into the second inning his velocity dropped and he was quickly pulled out of the game. That’s not ideal for any game but even less when you are playing the Dodgers in the postseason.

Padres scored first after a stolen base played to their advantage

The game was scoreless for what seemed like forever until Austin Nola hit a single allowing Will Myers, who had just stolen a base, to advance to home scoring the first run for the Padres. If not for that stolen base they probably wouldn’t have earned that run.

The Dodgers scored on an error tieing the game

Justin Turner was able to run home when the Padres dropped the ball at what should have been an easy out at first to tie up the game and give the Dodgers a whole new sense of self.

Jayce Tingler was ejected … LOL

Padres manager, Jayce Tingler, was ejected in the sixth when he yelled expletives at the umpire on his way to the mound to change his pitcher. It was funny … unless you are the Padres of course.

Shortly after Tingler was ejected the Dodgers scored four more runs
