Giannis Antetokounmpo is coming to Madden 21.

Have you ever been playing Madden 21 and overthrown your tight end going over the middle? Worry no more, as the developers chose to fix that problem by roping in Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and convincing him to lace up on the virtual gridiron.

Madden confirmes that Giannis, along with brothers Kostas and Thanasis, will be inserted into “The Yard”, the game’s customizable 5v5 football mode, complete with unique jerseys that sport the familiar blue and white of the Greek national flag. It’s unclear how the brothers will be rated or how to acquire them, but adding these two might be able to provide hours of fun.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and his two brothers will be available in “The Yard”

2020 has been a banner year for the Antteokounmpo family both on and off the court. Kostas is one game away from winning a ring with the Los Angeles Lakers, while Giannis, who became a father during the season, took home his second consecutive MVP award. After falling short in the postseason, maybe Giannis will be able to lead your Madden team to whatever titles you’re currently ripping your hair out in pursuit of.

Giannis could theoretically dominate in the NFL, as the likes of Tony Gonzalez and Antonio Gates made the switch from basketball to football. A 6-foot-11, 240 tight end with his speed galloping down the seam might be tough to stop, but Giannis might rethink thinks the first time he goes over the middle and Jamal Adams cracks him right in the chest.

The Madden developers haven’t touched franchise mode in a decade, and they’re trying to funnel players towards gambling and spending real money to earn better cards in Ultimate Team. At least they got three basketball players in the game’s 5v5 arcade football mode!
