After making light work of Texas A&M, the Alabama Crimson Tide travel to Oxford, MS to take on Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels.
The Alabama Crimson Tide have started their season off as expected, undefeated, and winning in dominant fashion. Alabama opened the 2020 campaign with a 38 to 19 road-win over the Missouri Tigers and then this past Saturday hosted the Texas A&M Aggies, in-game the Crimson Tide won 52 to 24. The Tide would start the game up 14 to 0 before finding themselves even at 14 with the Aggies but would go on to outscore Texas A&M 38 to 10 to close out the game.
Alabama quarterback Mac Jones has silenced any doubters who said he might not be able to lead this team to a SEC title or a national title, and while yes there is still plenty of football left to be played, he has been impressive. In their first two games, Jones has completed just under 80% of his passes, while throwing for 684 yards and six touchdowns. Jones did not have the Heisman hype entering the season like his predecessor but he definitely deserves some of that talk now.
Alabama takes on the Ole Miss Rebels this Saturday night, whose offense has been firing on all cylinders in their first two games, while their defense has been suspect and given up 51 points and 41 points. Luckily for Ole Miss, their offense had enough firepower in it to at least secure on win, an overtime game versus Kentucky last Saturday. As of now, Ole Miss is averaging 536 yards a game and 38.5 points per game on offense, while their defense is allowing over 600 yards a game and 45 points a game.
Barring a miraculous change in Ole Miss’ defensive gameplan, Alabama’s offense should easily light up the scoreboard, so if the Rebels want any chance to pulling off the upset will need their own offense to match point for point throughout the game. Will Alabama keep the tide rolling? Or will the Rebels’ offense be enough to take the Tide down?

Prediction: Again, it would be a miracle if the Ole Miss defense shut down Alabama’s offense. So the Tide are going to put points on the board, leaving the Rebels with just one option and that is to win in a shootout. Unfortunately for them Alabama’s defense is one of the best in the country and is not going to allow that to happen. Lane Kiffen is able to draw up some plays and keep things interesting early as he did versus Florida but just like in that game, the Rebels will fall behind in a hole that they cannot climb out of. Alabama wins significantly sending the Rebels back below .500.
Score: Alabama 48, Ole Miss 24.
