The Notre Dame Fighting Irish enter Week 6 with the No. 5 overall ranking in the country. Along with the No. 7 Miami Hurricanes, the Irish stand out as potentially the biggest challenger in the ACC this season for the No. 1 Clemson Tigers. Even though the Florida State Seminoles are a bad team, they did get their first win of the season last week over the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.

But if they struggle to put Florida State away, we’ll have our doubts.
Given that Notre Dame has a better head coach, a better quarterback and a more talented roster, the Irish are going to make a statement against Florida State. Look for them to win and cover over a Florida State team that won’t push for .500 this year in ACC play. If someone stumbles in the top four this week, look for the Irish to possibly move up into early playoff positioning.
