Once again, another awful play call in Auburn football’s favor, this time over Arkansas football.
Auburn football was gifted a Week 6 victory over Arkansas football by the officials.
The Auburn Tigers were down 28-27 inside of a minute left in their home game vs. the Arkansas Razorbacks. Auburn quarterback Bo Nix muffed the snap and then proceeded to clock it. Because it wasn’t a clean snap, it was rule intentional grounding. However, it seemed to be a backwards pass and one the Hogs clearly recovered. Auburn won it a play later on a Anders Carlson field goal.

Arkansas should be 2-1 and ranked, while Auburn should have a big fat L here.
Auburn got the benefit of the doubt two weeks ago when a certain Kentucky Wildcats touchdown was taken off the board. The Tigers would pick off Kentucky quarterback Terry Wilson a play later, but that play tipped the scales in Auburn’s favor. That was so egregious then, so what adjective could I possibly use today to describe whatever the officials crapped out on the field just now?
How is that not an Auburn fumble? Nix never had control of the snap, then threw ball backward into the ground. You can’t assume anything about intending to clock the ball.

Auburn, agent of chaos.

I don’t understand how that’s not a fumble for Auburn.

Someone who is a referee pls define that rule for me.
The refs just sent Arkansas to the slaughter. What a brutal call. Auburn got lucky on that one.

this is not the right call

Just brutal for Arkansas. Just brutal.

This win keeps Auburn’s College Football Playoff dreams alive, even though the Tigers couldn’t score a touchdown last week vs. the cross-divisional rival Georgia Bulldogs up in Athens. Arkansas played well enough to win. I know we don’t believe in moral victories, but the Hogs should be 2-1 and cracking the AP Top 25 Poll by stunning Auburn down on The Plains. They were so robbed.
What is apparent though is the gap between Arkansas and Auburn is now virtually non-existent. It’ll go down as an Auburn victory in Week 6, but we know who should have won that game. Arkansas already has one SEC victory, should have two and will probably have a few more by the end of the season. Sam Pittman should destroy whoever he talks to from the SEC on the phone.
It’s going to be awfully hard to top this atrocious blown call by the SEC officials to rob Arkansas.
