Oklahoma football quarterback Spencer Rattler left with an apparent injury but it’s more apparent that he was benched after back-to-back turnovers.
Spencer Rattler entered the season with Heisman expectations but less than a month later, he may have lost his starting job with the Oklahoma Sooners.
After losing a fumble and throwing an interception on back-to-back possessions against Texas, Rattler was removed from the game with what looked like a potential injury as his upper right arm was tended to by trainers on the sideline, but it looks like it was more of a benching by Lincoln Riley.

FOX's Jenny Taft saying Spencer Rattler is healthy, and that Tanner Mordecai's insertion into this game (three series and counting now) doesn't appear to be related to any sort of injury.

Rattler was Texas’ best player in the first half in the Red River Showdown.
Tanner Mordecai has replaced Rattler in the lineup but the early results haven’t been favorably just yet. He is a faster player than Rattler so if the offensive line continues to come up short in protecting the signal-caller, he can escape and try to pick up yards with his feet.
The run game has been lacking for the Sooners all year and with Seth McGowan not suiting up for the game, the run element has not been a threat so the Texas defense has been able to focus entirely on shutting down the once-potent Oklahoma passing attack.
Rattler may return in the second half of the Red River Showdown vs. Texas as the Sooners look to put together a strong third and fourth quarters as they try to avoid losing a third straight game, which is almost unheard of for a program that was ranked as high as No. 3 a few weeks ago.
Don’t dismiss a comeback story for Rattler, but it may be apparent that he was one of the most overrated players to start the season.
