Following an impressive 27-6 win over Auburn, the Georgia Bulldogs stay at home and play host to a surging Tennessee Volunteers team.
If you would have told me a year ago that the Georgia Bulldogs and the Tennessee Volunteers would be facing off in a pivotal matchup that featured both teams undefeated and ranked inside the top 15 of the AP Poll, I would have just laughed in your face but hey, it is 2020 and it is the year of unusual things. Now, granted both teams have only played two games but unbeaten is unbeaten and that’s all that matters.
The Georiga Bulldogs have found a nice balance on both sides of the ball to start the season. The Bulldogs offense is averaging 253 yards in the air while averaging over 160 yards on the ground, leading to them averaging 32 points per game in their first to games. And on defense, the Bulldogs have been one of the best in the country, holding their opponents to under 100 yards passing and just 58 yards rushing a game and have only allowed just one touchdown all season.
The Tennessee Volunteers have had similar success on offense with a balanced attack of both the pass and run game, leaning more towards the dominance of the rushing attack. And while their defense is allowing 361 yards of offense in the first two games, they are still holding their opponents to under 20 points per game and have forced three turnovers, without committing a single one of their own.
Georgia surprised many by their play against Auburn last week but is that more of how good Georgia is or more of the fact that Auburn might have been slightly overrated? Well, we will get our answer soon enough as Tennessee should test how good this Bulldog team really is. So can Tennessee keep with the Bulldogs and take control of the SEC East? Or will Georgia flex their muscles and show that their still top dawg in the division?

Prediction: If you love games full of defensive stands and heavy rush attacks well then do I have the game just for you. Tennessee has yet to turn the ball over this year but it can be expected that their first comes against the Bulldogs, however, the Vols will need to limit the number of mistakes made as Georgia’s offense has a big play ability that can put this game away. But luckily for Tennessee, their defense should show out this game and keep things pretty close. A late Georgia field goal extends their lead to seven, giving the Vols a chance to tie the game at best but are unable to put together a game-tying drive, putting the Bulldogs at 3-0 and in the driver’s seat of the SEC East.
