Brian Flores’ team headed to the West Coast to take on the defending NFC champion 49ers. And by halftime, the Dolphins owned a stunning 30-7 advantage at intermission. Ageless quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 350 yards and three scores and the Dolphins played turnover-free football while holding the ball for 36:53 and outgaining the Niners, 436-259. Miami finished with five sacks after totaling just QB traps in their first four games.
Winners of their last two games after starting the season 0-2, the Panthers made their way to Atlanta to take on the desperate Falcons. Carolina had dropped five straight games in this NFC South rivalry but quarterback Teddy Bridgewater threw for 313 yards and a pair of scores and Matt Rhule’s offense rolled up 437 total yards. The Panthers did not give up a sack or turn over the ball and allowed just 16 points for the second time in three games.
Losers of two straight games after a 2-0 start, Kliff Kingsbury’s team headed east to take on the winless Jets. Kyler Murray did throw another interception but he also totaled 380 yards through the air and connected with DeAndre Hopkins for a 37-yard score. The second-year quarterback also ran nine times for 31 yards and one TD. Arizona limited the Jets to 285 total yards and came away with three sacks. Hopkins finished with 131 yards on six catches.
