With two head coaches already gone, who will be the next domino to fall?

Welcome to the NFL firing season, where the hot seats are scorching and one poor decision could be the end of an era. The Houston Texans and Atlanta Falcons both made the call prior to Week 6 to move on from Bill O’Brien and Dan Quinn, respectively. With the team’s combined record sitting at 1-9 despite ample talent, ownership agreed the only way to “win now” is to move on from the men calling the shots.

Quinn and O’Brien will have a fresh start to spruce up their resumes, but they won’t be the last. With several other teams struggling to produce wins, let alone even quality outings, multiple names are close to receiving their pink slip and shown the door. The NFL is a business first, and anyone on a short leash could be cut loose in mere seconds.

First-year head coaches have to struggle immensely to be fired, so the verdict is still out on Joe Judge in New York. Outside of him, don’t expect Mike McCarthy or Ron Rivera to find themselves sitting on a chair ready to melt. As for veterans, their time to “fix the problem” is well over. This trio of play-callers should be prepped for their “Black Monday” to come sooner than the season’s end.
