NFL pundits aren’t thrilled with the Saints using Taysom Hill on Monday night

Drew Brees is finally starting to look competent and how do the Saints respond? Let’s throw Taysom Hill in there for not one, but two straight plays! I’m not one to question the great Sean Payton, but there are some on Twitter who deem themselves worthy.

The Saints gave Hill his paycheck so they feel obligated to use him often. It gets in the way of any fluidity on offense, especially against a team they should handle fairly easily at home. The Chargers are a good story, but let’s be honest. The Saints are supposed to be Super Bowl contenders. Why are they giving Hill reps before the game is in hand?

NFL Twitter went after Taysom Hill and Sean Payton’s play-calling

The BYU product is an interesting weapon for the Saints offense, but he’s not the quarterback of the future despite how much Payton might insist. He’s also not deserving of a playbook of his own, and ought to be viewed more as a gimmick than anything else.

Until Brees looks like Brees again, the Saints ought to be figuring out how to get their Hall of Famer back on track, rather than wasting plays on Hill.

Next. Why does anybody think Taysom Hill is so good?. dark
