Zach Ertz is causing major concerns with your fantasy football roster.

It’s hard to imagine, but at the start of the year, Zach Ertz was seen as the third-best tight end in football behind only Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs and George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers in some order. Now, he’s not even seen as a tertiary receiving option with the Philadelphia Eagles. How concerned should you be if you have Ertz on your fantasy football team?

The Fantasy Footballers have major issues with what’s going on right now in Philadelphia with their former standout tight end. Mike Wright suggests one of two things for Ertz: Either he’s hurt and playing through something we don’t know about like Odell Beckham Jr. did last season for the Cleveland Browns or he’s washed as fantasy player. I mean, just look at his productivity in 2020.

Check out The Fantasy Footballers for all their advice.

In five games this season for the Eagles, Ertz has 20 catches for 145 yards and a touchdown. In the last two games, he has five catches for a combined 15 yards. Ertz has not scored a touchdown since Week 1’s loss to the Washington Football Team. 10 receivers in the NFL have had more yards in a game this season than Ertz has had through five weeks. It’s not getting any better.

What should you do if you have Zach Ertz on your fantasy football team?

Though he was not getting the target share when Dallas Goedert was out there, it’s been alarming that Ertz hasn’t been able to capitalize on that in the last two weeks. There are plenty of reasons why the Eagles are 1-3-1, and Ertz’s fall off a cliff from a production standpoint certainly isn’t helping. If they want to contend for an NFC East crown this year, he needs to play better soon.

So what do you do if you have Ertz on your fantasy football roster? Dropping him may be a bit short-sided and you have to come to grips with the fact he offers zero trade value whatsoever. So the best thing you can do if you can afford to do it is keep him on your bench and play another tight end, hoping Ertz gets out of his 2020 swoon before it ruins your chances to win your league.

The only time Ertz has gone over 50 yards receiving this year came in the overtime game vs. the Cincinnati Bengals. Keep in mind the stats from that game are inflated because it went the full fifth quarter before resulting in a tie. Though he may have a hard time vs. the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6, it gets easier in Week 7 vs. the New York Giants and Week 8 vs. the Dallas Cowboys.
