FanDuel NFL 2020: Best lineup for Week 6
By Nick Villano
Wide Receiver: Alshon Jeffrey $4,800
This is a complete Hail Mary attempt, but an educated one. Alshon Jeffrey is finally healthy after a broken foot has kept him out for close to a year. The Philadelphia Eagles desperately need him back in the lineup with DeSean Jackson and rookie Jalen Reagor still nursing their own injuries. It’s another injury-riddled season for the Eagles, but the one person who’s stayed healthy was Carson Wentz.
Wentz has been downright awful all year. Now, he’s going up against a Baltimore team that is looking to make a statement. This probably means Wentz is going to need to pass more often than usual. Miles Sanders did a good job of keeping the Pittsburgh Steelers defense honest last week, but if Jeffrey is back in the lineup, Wentz should feel a little more confident.
Is Jeffrey the player he used to be? Not even close, but to say he can’t have a huge performance is ignoring his past. His last full game, he had over 100 yards through the air. He can still contribute at a high level if he’s fully healthy.
Now, that’s the question. Is he ever going to be fully healthy again? The Eagles reportedly wanted to trade him before the season, but they weren’t able to facilitate a deal. If they want to build his value, doing it against the Ravens would be a big deal. Also, Wentz has to throw the ball to someone.
Travis Fulgham obviously had a huge game last week, but can the Eagles rely on that? The answer is no. Jeffrey can help bring some star power to a position that desperately needs it if he’s cleared. He was apparently ready to go last week, but he got sick. Now, he should be 100 percent ready. For this price, it’s worth a shot.
Other Low-Priced Options: Dontrelle Inman $4,900, Randall Cobb $5,100
