Addition by subtraction.

Who was subtracted, you ask? Josh Allen. Although Allen was not horrendous vs. the Tennessee Titans, he did regress from his performance in the first quarter of the season.

Ergo, Aaron Rodgers — on a bye week — moves up the Stock Watch. Rodgers hops from No. 3 to No. 2. Both the Lions and the Packers took a scheduled week off to start the bye-week strings of weeks in the NFL. Inadvertently, the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots joined them due to COVID-related reschedulings.

Through 5 weeks, Rodgers has completely revitalized his career. Of course, he was not a bad quarterback during the last four seasons. But Rodgers was not as prolific as his 2008-2014 campaigns. If age was setting in, that process has been totally paused or is undergoing a reversal. As evidenced by his nearly flawless statistics and his team’s undefeated record, Rodgers is back.

The Packers will get their trickiest test yet in Week 6. Green Bay travels to Tampa Bay where the NFL will be graced with Rodgers vs. Tom Brady. The Buccaneers are the owners of the toughest defense yet that Rodgers has faced in 2020.
