According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the Atlanta Falcons have shut down their team facility after multiple positive coronavirus tests came in.

Concerning news has arrived for the Atlanta Falcons three days leading up to their Week 6 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. That’s because according to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the team has decided to shut down their team facility after receiving multiple positive Coronavirus tests.

It’s been a hectic week for Atlanta, now 0-5 on the season, which began with the team firing head coach Dan Quinn following last week’s loss to the Carolina Panthers. Now, they’ve got multiple COVID-19 cases within the organization they need to worry about.

The Vikings-Falcons game on Sunday is now in jeopardy following Thursday’s Coronavirus news

As of this writing, it’s unclear if the four positive tests are from players or coaches. Regardless, Atlanta has acted swiftly in its decision to close the doors to the team facility and keep everyone out until further notice.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, we’ve already seen multiple NFL Games pushed back this season. It goes without saying, but Sunday’s scheduled game between the Vikings and Falcons now appears to be in jeopardy.

For Atlanta, this tough news just adds to what has been a total disappointment of a season. The Falcons entered 2020 with hopes of competing for an NFC South title and making some noise in the postseason. Instead, they’ve struggled on both sides of the ball and have lost their first five games of the campaign, leading to the firing of Quinn and general manager Thomas Dimitroff.

The team was hoping for a fresh start this weekend and a win to bring some joy back to the fanbase. Now, it’s completely up in the air if they’ll be able to take the field or not.
