5 teams that could use Jeremy Lin next season
By Mike Luciano
The 76ers have quite the strong foundation given the presence of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, but Doc Rivers is smart enough to realize Philadelphia needs to find as much shooting as possible given how their season ended. With Simmons still assuming point guard duties but unwilling to even attempt to improve his 3-point shooting, the Sixers could choose to again let Simmons play his unique style of basketball and sign Lin to provide a spark on offense.
One of the main issues with Philadelphia last year, in addition to the lack of shooting and tactical edge, was the fact that their bench consistently underperformed due to a lack of depth. The nomadic Lin could join his ninth NBA team in Philadelphia and assume the role of veteran second-unit leader. By no means would Lin be a star addition, which is what the Sixers fans want to see, but he’s exactly what this team needs.
