Chelsea face Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, Oct. 17. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

The Premier League season resumes following the international break with Chelsea hosting Southampton at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have seven points in their first four games of the season. While the Saints have split their first four games.

Chelsea entered the break flying high after beating Crystal Palace 4-0. Offensively, few teams in the Premier League can match the talent and depth that Chelsea have upfront. Players such as Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, and Callum Hudson-Odoi would star for the majority of teams but will struggle to get starts this season. While Chelsea is filled with offensively gifted players, the club is still struggling to figure out their best defensive lineup. Lampard’s biggest challenge this season will be trying to figure out how to best deploy his back four. If he can figure that out, Chelsea could challenge for the league title.

After two straight losses to start the season, Southampton rallied to win their last two games. Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl spent the summer upgrading his defense. The Saints signed Mohammed Salisu, Kyle Walker-Peters, and Ibrahima Diallo. All three will likely end up playing large roles this season. In addition to bolstering their defensive, Southampton signed Theo Walcott, bringing him back to the club where he started his career. Walcott should help provide support to striker Danny Ings, who leads the club with three goals this season.

Chelsea and Southampton split the two games last season. However, since the start of the 2016-17 season, that is the only win Southampton have against Chelsea. The Blues have won six of eight games between the two clubs.
