Quinton Randall got the opportunity to showcase his talents on the undercard of Lomachenko vs. Lopez. He made it count with a unanimous decision victory. 

Quinton Randall made good on the big stage of ESPN national T.V. with a unanimous decision victory over then-undefeated Jan Carlos Rivera. Fight commentators relayed his tragic backstory, which makes him easy to root for.

The Saturday, Oct. 17, the main event between lightweight champions Vasiliy Lomachenko and Teofimo Lopez got the world’s attention. For boxers on the undercard, it was a chance to introduce themselves to the public and make some waves. Randall did that with a clean victory over Rivera, but his endurance through life trauma likely earned him a new fanbase.

From the first bell, Randall looked calm and collected as Rivera tried to pressure him. He started the bout cautiously but warmed up quickly in round 2.

Rivera backed Randall to the ropes at times, but Rivera smothered his punches. Randall played matador, as he made Rivera rush past him as he picked him off with one-two combinations.

As Randall boxed, ESPN commentators told the heartbreaking events of Randall’s life. In Fansided’s recent interview with Randall, he discussed his two children’s deaths in detail and how faith and boxing saved his life and offer him the inspiration to keep moving forward.

Randall (7-0, 2 KOs) continued his winning ways and the hope that he can one day achieve world-champion status. Randall found boxing while on a 23-hour lockdown during a three-year prison sentence and started his amateur career at 21 years old.

Today, Randall is 30 years old with a perfect professional record. Rivera gave him a good test, but Randall advances up the boxing rankings with a unanimous decision victory.
