The way things are going for Mike Nolan, the Dallas Cowboys may be looking for a new defensive coordinator sooner than later.

To put it simply, things have not gone well for Mike Nolan as the Dallas Cowboys‘ defensive coordinator in 2020.

Dallas went into their Monday Night Football matchup with the Arizona Cardinals giving up 31 or more points in each of their last four games.

Things didn’t get any better facing Kyler Murray. Arizona put up 28 points by the midway point of the third quarter.

The responsibility lies squarely with the defensive coordinator, who will be lucky to make it out of the 2020 season with a job at this rate.

Who could the Cowboys target if they decide the Mike Nolan experiment isn’t worth continuing?

3. Wade Phillips

Wade Phillips is a familiar face for Cowboys fans. He was the head coach in Dallas from 2007-10. He’s also on the market.

Most recentlym, Phillips was the defensive coordinator for Sean McVay and the Rams. Even though Los Angeles ranked seventh in the league in yards per play, ninth in turnovers and limited opposing teams to 22.75 points per game, the Rams let Phillip’s contract run out.

As far as the unemployed defensive coordinators out there, it doesn’t get better than Phillips. His defense got him a Super Bowl ring with the Denver Broncos and his track record is strong.
