Adam Gase is once again trying to deflect blame after getting embarrassed

Another week, another embarrassment for the New York Jets. While head coach Adam Gase once again buried his head in his offensive play sheet, his Jets were shutout 24-0 by the Miami Dolphins in a game in which the Jets never even entertained being competitive. Still, if you’re listening to Gase, that loss is everyone else’s fault but his.

Gase, who is currently employing an offensive coordinator that shifted the blame onto his players and a defensive coordinator that hates his guts, claims that giving up the play-calling is “Step 10” when it comes to fixing the offense, adding that the Jets are at “Step 2.”

Adam Gase’s Jets have scored just six offensive touchdowns

Gase’s Jets have scored just 75 points all season long, and he has mustered just six touchdowns, most of which coming after the game has already been decided. The Jets have lost all six of their games this season by two scores, leading some to believe that the No. 1 pick in the draft is waiting for them at the end of the season.

Things aren’t going to get much easier for the Jets, who have one of the league’s hardest remaining schedules. After taking on the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs in back-to-back weeks, the Jets will take in Cam Newton and the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football. With the Los Angeles Chargers the only sub-.500 team on the schedule, things are going to get worse before they get better.

Gase’s poor coaching and his historically bad team is one thing, but the fact he is still feuding with stars and refusing to admit that his lackluster offense has anything to do with this is borderline remarkable. Only 10 more games to sit through, Jets fans.
