A lot of high-level NFL players are set to hit free agency in 2021. Read 30 predictions on how things are going to go down next offseason.

The 2020 NFL regular season is in full swing, but savvy front offices are already eyeing the 2021 free agent class. A lot of talent could be on the move in just a few short months.

Of course, most prime free agents will stick with their current teams due to their team’s ability to leverage the franchise tag in negotiations. It’s unclear how many teams will be willing to pay such a premium this offseason though. That could lead to more movement than normal.

Jump right into this predictions piece with a look at the future of Ryan Fitzpatrick.

30. Ryan Fitzpatrick goes to Seattle to back up Russell Wilson

Fitzpatrick might choose to retire if he can’t find a starting job, but looking for an attractive place to serve as a backup with a chance to win a Super Bowl could also be appealing to the savvy veteran.

The Seahawks should be in the market for a signal-caller who can keep the team afloat if Russell Wilson is forced to miss time due to injury. With all due respect to Geno Smith, he’s not that guy. Fitzpatrick would drastically raise Seattle’s floor in Wilson’s absence.

This won’t be a lucrative contract, but the Seahawks can give Fitzpatrick a one-year deal to make it worth his while. Pete Carroll seems like the sort of coach who would really vibe with all of Fitzpatrick’s swagger as well.
