The lineups for Game 1 of the World Series are out

We have a true David vs. Goliath story on tap in the 2020 World Series, as the plucky Tampa Bay Rays will look to continue their postseason success against a Los Angeles Dodgers team that splurged on the best players money can buy. Game 1 promised one of the best starting pitching match-ups of the entire 2020 postseason.

The Dodgers will send Clayton Kershaw to the mound in Game 1 from Globe Life Field in Arlington. Mookie Betts will lead off and play right field, while Corey Seager will follow him at shortstop.

LA will use catcher Will Smith at the DH spot, while Cody Bellinger, who sent the Dodgers to the series with a clutch home run in the seventh inning of Game 7 of the NLCS, will play center field and hit sixth. Austin Barnes will handle catching duties behind the plate as the Dodgers try to win their first World Series in over three decades.

Tampa Bay changes their lineups more than most, but most of the usual suspects are in the lineup for the Rays. Playoff sensation Randy Arozarena is hitting third, while fellow postseason breakout performer Manuel Margot is playing left field and hitting fifth. Tyler Glasnow and his blistering triple-digit fastball will get the start for Tampa Bay.

The Dodgers have the edge in star power, but the Rays have proven they can answer the bell when pressed into action against the Yankees and Astros. Legacies will be on the line in this pivotal World Series that will either see LA erase their postseason demons or Tampa crowned as champs for the first time ever.
