The Los Angeles Dodgers might lose these three players in free agency.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have plenty of star power given the likes of Clayton Kershaw, Cody Bellinger, and Mookie Betts dotting the roster of the 2020 National League Champions. However, Dave Roberts’ secret ingredient for success is his unrivaled depth, as the Dodgers have an A-level replacement at every position on their roster.

Unfortunately, the financial realities of the sport mean the Dodgers aren’t going to be able to bring back every member of the 2020 pennant winners, and contenders looking to snatch the Dodgers’ crown away should try to lure them away from Tinseltown in free agency.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. OF. Los Angeles Dodgers. Joc Pederson. 3. player. 71

Pederson is a bit of a one-trick pony, as his batting average is continuing to slip below the Mendoza line. With a below-average defensive WAR, why is Pederson worth giving a multi-year contract to? Well, he’s still just 28 years old, and his 28 home runs per 162 games show that Pederson’s pop from the left-hand side is still lethal enough for some team to give him a multi-year contract and a starting spot that means he isn’t constantly looking over his shoulder at backups trying to angle for his job.

Pederson is in a similar situation to that of Kyle Schwarber of the Chicago Cubs in that they were born to be DH-ing on an American League team but were forced to struggle in the National League by playing the field every day. Contending teams in need of a little pop could find their quick fix if they go forward with signing Pederson. Given the depth LA has in the outfield right now with more prospects underway, Pederson might’ve played his last season in Dodger blue in 2020.
