With the Miami Dolphins announcing Tua Tagovailoa as the team’s new starter, multiple teams need to get on the horn to try and trade for Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Breaking news has arrived on Tuesday out of Miami, with the Dolphins officially announcing Tua Tagovailoa as their starting quarterback. The timing is a bit surprising, as veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has been exceptional in recent weeks, has the team at 3-3 and in second place of the AFC East standings.

With this now Tagovailoa’s team and Fitzpatrick headed to the bench, there’s surely multiple teams who would love to get the gun-slinger to town via trade. The list includes the Cleveland Browns, Chicago Bears and Washington Football Team.

The Chicago Bears would be wise to try and acquire Ryan Fitzpatrick

Completely out of nowhere, the Chicago Bears are 5-1 this season and are in a tight race with the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North. With the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions basically afterthoughts in the division, this is looking like a Chicago-Green Bay battle the rest of the way.

If Chicago is serious about potentially winning the division and going on a serious postseason run, Fitzpatrick could be the guy to help send them over the top. With Chicago’s stellar defense, they’ve been missing a quarterback to get the offense going, while also making big-time plays for them.

Enter Fitzpatrick? Currently, Nick Foles is the starter for Matt Nagy after the easy decision was made to bench Mitchell Trubisky. On the year, Foles has thrown for 878 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions. Those aren’t the kinds of stats that will jump off the page.

While Foles has done a fine job in replacing Trubisky, he’s not the quarterback to help this team unseat Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Could Fitzpatrick end up being the short-term fix to help the Bears in 2020?

Fitzpatrick has 1,525 yards and 10 touchdowns to his name, while throwing seven interceptions. He’s not afraid to let the ball fly and has shown he can win some big games as well. It’s up to the Bears to decide if they want him to do the same for them.
