Ezekiel Elliott directly addressed those Cowboys players who anonymously criticized the coaching staff.

The Dallas Cowboys fell to 2-4 Monday and then the drama began. A report expressed frustration from players toward the coaching staff about a lack of preparation. This type of stuff leaking six games into a season is never good. Anyone miss Jason Garrett?

Ezekiel Elliott is one of the leaders of this Cowboys team and had himself a rough game against the Arizona Cardinals. However, it appears he is not one of the anonymous critics as he spoke out against airing dirty laundry to the media.

Ezekiel Elliott focused on getting better

Elliott doesn’t deny the fact the team has problems right now. But he does make it clear how no one is helped by the media sharing the team’s inner problems. Hashing it out behind closed doors avoids drama and can help this team get back on track.

The running back is also in a position where he needs to follow the cliche of looking at himself in the mirror to figure out why he fumbled the ball twice Monday night. That put his team in a 14-0 hole and Andy Dalton had to throw the ball 54 times in the blowout loss.

Mike McCarthy is six games into his Cowboys tenure and some fans may want him gone. Some players clearly do as well, but there is still a long way to go and the Cowboys can win this division without even cracking the .500 mark.

The players should follow Elliott’s advice and simply focus on how to get better. Complaining to the media won’t solve anything and it could even result in players losing their job if they are criticizing the coaches without performing at a high level themselves.

Everyone in Dallas needs to be better and this early adversity could end up benefiting the team if they have to evaluate every aspect of the game so early in the season.
