Carson Wentz, what are you doing!?!?

Carson Wentz isn’t helping his case of regression two quarters into Thursday night.

Despite having limited weapons, the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback still is making ill-advised throws in moments that the offense should be capitalizing.

With just over five minutes left in the second quarter, Wentz was thriving under center. Thanks to a quality run game from Corey Clement and Jason Huntley. Meanwhile, the former No.2 pick connected with both Greg Ward Jr. and Travis Fulgham for 16 yards.

It looked like at worst the Eagles would set themselves up for positive points with at least a field goal. Instead, Wentz tried to force something out of nothing.

Going for the end zone after being flushed out of the pocket, Wentz tried to connect with rookie wideout John Hightower. Instead, James Bradberry was in the right place to haul in the interception.

To make matters worse, Hightower should be credited for causing the pick since he pushed the cornerback into the endzone rather than out of bounds for a touchback.

Two things on the play stand out more than anything. First, Wentz continues to try to play the hero role in situations that could be resolved by just hitting the reset button on the next play. Second, wide receivers are taught to push defenders out of bounds to get keep their feet out of play.

With that interception, Wentz is now tied with Kirk Cousins for the most interceptions this season at 10. It also was his 12th turnover in just seven games.

Next. Eagles rookie Jalen Hurts is heavy on minds in New York and Dallas. dark
