Travis Etienne’s kryptonite has been revealed: Frosted Flakes. No, seriously.

Clemson football fans held their breath for a few tense moments in the second half vs. Syracuse. No, not just because they only led 27-21 against a team they were 46.5-point favorites, but because Travis Etienne ran to the locker room with an apparent injury.

Thankfully, Etienne wasn’t injured and he came back to a standing ovation as Clemson scored 13 unanswered points to come away with a 26-point win. After the game, Etienne revealed he left the game with cramps and the reason was because of his choice for breakfast.

Frosted Flakes the only defense against Travis Etienne

Etienne had some Frosted Flakes to start his day, which is a different kind of breakfast for champions, but he admitted he’s going to have a more balanced meal that isn’t loaded with sugar and said he’ll have eggs and sausage before games now.

That’ll just leave more bowls of Frosted Flakes for you and me, but we’re also not high-performance All-American running backs who can’t afford to leave a game to get an IV.

So Etienne won’t be doing any commercials for Frosted Flakes when he is in the NFL next year, although, I think he should still indulge with Tony the Tiger and enjoy a bowl or two when he’s not playing a game. It’s just too good to eliminate it from the diet entirely.

Etienne did have a career-high three touchdowns and finished with 86 rushing yards, so maybe the Frosted Flakes aren’t so bad after all.
