With Andy Dalton clearly not being the answer for this team, Jerry Jones should consider making a move to try and acquire Jameis Winston.

Last week in the showdown against the Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys fans everywhere witnessed just how much this team is going to miss Dak Prescott, as Andy Dalton struggled immensely in the 38-10 loss. Dallas could not move the ball with consistency, which was frustrating to see.

Moving forward, Dalton will be the one to lead this team out onto the field, but the fanbase doesn’t have much confidence in the veteran getting the job done in a totally open (and poor) NFC East.

So, should Jerry Jones see if someone else is out there who can take this offense to the next level instead of Dalton? Hey, what about Jameis Winston?

Jerry Jones needs to get on the phone immediately to try and trade for Jameis Winston

As things stand, Winston is standing on the sidelines in New Orleans holding a clipboard while Drew Brees goes to work for the Saints. Unless something happens to Brees in 2020, there’s no chance Winston takes over as the team’s starter. That wouldn’t be the case for him in Dallas.

Winston would be an immediate step-up for the team over Dalton. While Winston was known for turning the ball over as a starter with the Buccaneers, he can still sling the ball around like a stud. Last season, he threw for 5,109 yards and 33 touchdowns, though his 30 interceptions was a major black eye for him.

Regardless, Ezekiel Elliott would take plenty of pressure off of him in running the offense. Plus, the Dallas offensive line would give him time to operate, which wasn’t the case for him often with the Bucs.

While losing Prescott for the season has hurt the Cowboys, that doesn’t mean the campaign is over. And if the team were to add Winston, it could bring some excitement back to this squad, which is really needed right now.
