The Green Bay Packers will try to rebound against the Houston Texans.
The Green Bay Packers’ looked almost unstoppable heading into Week 5, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers reminded us all that no team is perfect, least of all these Packers. Aaron Rodgers and Matt LaFleur will head down to Texas as they look to get back in the win column and keep pace with the Chicago Bears in the NFC North.
Green Bay’s first obstacle as they look to wrestle back control in the NFC North will be the Houston Texans, who are 1-1 under interim head coach Romeo Crennel after the Bill O’Brien firing.
What to watch for in Packers vs Texans
Green Bay will not be playing this game at full strength, as they are down both their starting running back and left tackle after they took a battering against Todd Bowles’ Tampa Bay defense last week.
Jamaal Williams will get the start as it appears likely Aaron Jones will not play today. Perhaps more importantly against JJ Watt and that defensive line, left tackle David Bakhtiari is not traveling with the team today due to a chest injury.
The Texans, who became the first team to allow a 350-yard passer and a 200-yard rusher in the same game during an overtime loss to the Tennessee Titans, will try to combat Green Bay’s ground game with the league’s 32nd-ranked rush defense. Even without Jones, Green Bay might be able to dominate, meaning quarterback Deshaun Watson will likely get wrapped up in another shootout.
