A Hawaiian-shirt wearing Dodgers fan doing the DX suck it sign after an inning-ending out is the hero baseball needed.

Forget Mookie Betts and Ji-Man Choi. Baseball has a new hero and it’s the Dodgers fan in the Hawaiian shirt who celebrated with a DX suck it chop.

It was the bottom of the eighth inning and Victor Gonzalez was tasked with getting the Dodgers out of trouble with Rays baserunners on second and first. When Brandon Lowe lined out to center, the Dodgers rightly celebrated.

So did their fans in the stands.

In an instant that fan went from anonymous fan to internet meme.

The Dodgers fan in the Hawaiian shirt set a new standard for celebrating

The GIFs flooded the internet while praise for his style swarmed.

A fan doing the suck it sign made popular in WWE would have been meme-worthy on its own. The fact that the fan was both older and wearing a Hawaiian shirt just took it to the next level.

The suck it guy had plenty more to celebrate as the ninth inning unfolded. The Dodgers closed out the game with Blake Treinen pitching. He allowed one hit to start the inning but took down Austin Meadows, Joey Wendle and Willy Adames to end it.

Los Angeles won the game 4-2 and took back control of the series at 3-2. If they win either of the last two games, they will come away with their first World Series title since 1988.

The Rays, who won Game 4 in stunning fashion on a walk-off single, came close to tying things up several times. Margot’s decision to attempt to steal home in the fourth inning will go down as one of the critical moments in the series.

Game 6 will be played on Tuesday, giving both teams and the entire baseball world a chance to breathe after a wild weekend of action.
