Ohio State football’s Haskell Garrett reveals some of the details after getting shot in the face.

Ohio State football defensive tackle Haskell Garrett was shot in the face back in August.

Garrett was trying to break up a domestic violence dispute before a gun was discharge on the side of his cheek. While he was trying to do the right thing, it left him having to undergo multiple surgeries on his mouth. Despite nearly losing his life to gun violence, Garrett never lost focus on playing football for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He revealed to us some of the details of his recovery.

Haskell Garrett continues to put others before himself on Ohio State football

Garrett has had several surgeries in the last few weeks, including a bone graft. He is still missing five teeth and has been on a mostly liquid diet since the incident occurred. With him saying he’s good to go, you have to trust him. You have to give it to the guy to put a terrifying experience behind him and being all in on helping Ohio State win its first national title since 2014 in January.

Ohio State stomped the Nebraska Cornhuskers in their Big Ten opener last week. This was expected, but so is a road win over the Penn State Nittany Lions under a blue moon on Halloween night. Penn State lost its season opener at the Indiana Hoosiers on the final play of the game. The Nittany Lions can’t afford to drop this one to Ohio State, so look for the Buckeyes to be challenged.

Garrett may be a total team player, but we are all ecstatic to hear he’s doing okay these days.
