Patrick Mahomes is mad at Kevin Cash’s terrible World Series managing, too
By John Buhler
Patrick Mahomes was beside himself watching Blake Snell getting pulled from Game 6, too.
Patrick Mahomes was blown away Kevin Cash would yank from the game Blake Snell like that.
The Tampa Bay Rays left-hander was cruising in the bottom of the sixth inning. He was virtually unhittable in Game 6 of the 2020 World Series. Snell had only allowed his second hit of the ball game before his skipper decided his night was done. This happened before in Game 6 of the 2020 ALCS vs. the Houston Astros and history seemed to have repeat itself. We cannot believe it either.
Kevin Cash will be ripped to pieces for this awful managerial decision
Analytics may have said it was time to pull Snell, but this is Game 6 of the 2020 World Series and your team needs to win to stave off elimination vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers. Sometimes, you have to go with your gut and make tough decisions that aren’t mathematically predetermined for you by a geek on a computer upstairs. Mahomes knew this was a bad decision from the couch.
The shame in it all is this is the second time Cash has done this to Snell in a huge postseason game this year. The only difference is the Rays were up 3-2 in their best-of-seven series vs. the Astros and not down 3-2 to the Dodgers. Los Angeles scored two runs to take a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth after Cash yanked Snell from the ball game. This was a regrettable decision.
The Dodgers will end up winning the World Series on Tuesday night because of Cash’s gaff.
