FanDuel NFL 2020: Best lineup for Week 8

Defense: Detroit Lions $3,400
It seems a little off to go for any option on Fanduel that is $3,400, but the matchup with the Indianapolis Colts makes this more than intriguing. Saving $1,000 on the defense means better running backs and receivers. Plus, Philip Rivers is still out here throwing ducks on a weekly basis. Even the Lions putrid secondary can get an interception here.
This isn’t a high-upside play. This is absolutely taking a matchup, hoping for a few points, then using that saved money in other places. The Lions only have one week with a negative point total, and the Colts are not the Packers on offense. They survived against the Saints, Falcons, and the Cardinals without going negative. It’s that type of week with the defensive matchups where this is what should be accepted.
The Lions do get turnovers every so often. They have five interceptions and two recovered fumbles. They have a turnover in the past four games. The pass rush isn’t getting sacks, which is hurting production, but at least they are keeping it interesting.
