FanDuel NFL 2020: Best lineup for Week 8
By Nick Villano
Tight End: Darren Waller $6,800
Tight end is the worst position to choose every week. Some of the best teams on the Fanduel boards last week still only got 8-12 points from the position. T.J. Hockensen was one of the best on the board, and that was thanks to Todd Gurley falling into the endzone and giving the Lions a chance to come back for the win. Tight end is a crapshoot this year. There’s no other way to put it.
That doesn’t mean you can’t find spaces to make smart bets. Darren Waller is one of the more interesting names on the list. The Raiders were a mess last week since the entire offensive line had to sit out due to COVID-19 cases. Waller still put up 14 points against the Buccaneers.
Waller has been consistent after the the New England Patriots defense made him irrelevant. He’s had between 11 and 14 points the past three weeks. Waller is slightly touchdown dependent, but Derek Carr is looking for him in the red zone. He’s going to score his touchdowns.
Waller is facing the Cleveland Browns, who could be a nightmare matchup for Carr. Somehow, that actually helps Waller’s value. Since Myles Garrett will be in Carr’s face a lot, he will look for outlets early and often.
Other Options: T.J. Hockenson $6,000, Noah Fant $5,700
