Tim Kurkjian rips Kevin Cash over Blake Snell decision
After Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash made a huge tactical mistake pulling Blake Snell, Tim Kurkjian says America’s game is not what it used to be.
Kevin Cash, Manager of the Rays, caught tons of slander last night after pulling starting pitcher Blake Snell from World Series Game 6, a decision that would ultimately cost them their season. Longtime ESPN MLB analyst Tim Kurkjian was disgusted by the Rays’ handling of the situation and said that baseball is being ruined because teams have simply stopped watching the games.
Why did Kevin Cash pull Blake Snell?
Blake Snell was pitching an incredible game when he was pulled, finishing with nine strikeouts, two hits, and an earned run before Nick Anderson took his place on the mound and effectively blew the game. Every baseball fan watching the game rightfully blamed Kevin Cash for the meltdown of the Tampa Bay Rays.
The entire Rays organization has to feel silly this morning after letting caution ruin their chance at a World Series title. Kurkjian is right in that anyone with eyes could see that Snell was the Rays best chance at winning that game, as he had struck out the Dodgers’ top hitters multiple times on the night.
It sounds like Kurkjian is completely done with the game and how organizations are deciding to play it. We’ll see if fans are as turned off as he is.
